About Home Fire Stove
Home
Fire Stove opened in 1979 in response to the rapid inflation in energy
costs. Since that time we have grown to be the largest volume hearth
products retailer in Oregon, and one of the largest in the nation. Our
highest priorities have always been on safety first, and customer
satisfaction next. (Yes, we would rather have you safe than satisfied,
if given that choice.) We carry a complete selection of hearth products,
including wood, pellet and gas fueled, stoves, inserts and fireplaces.
In addition, we offer complete installation and service. Quality
products, expert service, nice people, fair prices and our commitment to
safety and customer satisfaction have made Home Fire Stove successful.
We appreciate the opportunity to earn your
business.
Home Fire
Stove sells outstanding products, to be sure. More important, we think,
is the expert service we provide. From beginning to end, at Home Fire
Stove, you are dealing with experienced experts. Our sales people do not
work on individual commissions. Their highest priority is on helping you
select the product that is right for you and your situation. Of utmost
importance is safety, and we do not compromise here. All of our products
are tested to UL standards and we install them in accordance with their
listing, or set of specifications and clearances. We insist on a permit
and inspection to make sure that we have installed the appliance
correctly. This protects all concerned.
The next
important issue is sizing. If you buy an appliance that is too large, it
will run you out of the room, and you will not be able to operate it
properly. If you buy one that is too small, you'll be disappointed in
your investment. We have many years of experience in sizing our stoves
to the space that they will realistically heat.
After
safety and sizing come wonderful choices in appearance, quality,
durability, design, features and benefits, options, warranties and
price. Our goal is to have several product choices to fit almost every
situation. We are very familiar with all of the products we sell and
most that our competitors sell. We will provide you with as much
information as you need to make a good choice.
Our
preference is to always visit your home prior to taking a deposit or
scheduling an installation. This way we can make sure that we bid the
job accurately, size the appliance to the space it will heat, make sure
that we can pass muster with the building inspector, and minimize the
time and running around we will all have to do. We usually don't charge
for this service, but generally insist that you visit the store before
scheduling a home visit.
Our sales
staff, Tim Nissen, Tom Mechals, Jimmy Jones, Nate Baker and Ian Cordner
all have well over twenty years of experience in the sales and
installation of hearth products. Between the five of us, we have over
one hundred years of experience in the hearth products industry!
Home Fire
Stove is owned and operated by Tim Nissen. Tim moved to Salem in 1977 to
work as Assistant Dean at the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at
Willamette University. In 1983, having caught the entrepreneurial bug
from the students and faculty at Willamette, he started Willamette
Woodstoves. After many struggles and having learned the hearth business,
he bought Home Fire Stove from Ralph Stanley in 1987, and merged the two
businesses together in 1988. The combination of great products and a
commitment to full service proved to be a potent one, and Home Fire
Stove tripled in size over the next seven years. However, we
have never forgotten that we earn our living one customer and
installation at a time.
Home Fire Stove and its ownership are very involved in the Salem
Business Community. We are members and have served on the Board of the
Marion-Polk Building Industry Association, and the Salem Chamber of
Commerce. Home Fire Stove is involved in the state and national trade
associations and the Oregon Hearth Products Association, having served
on both boards and as President of the association.
Why Do Business With Us?
Home Depot and Lowes handle stoves and
fireplaces, most building supply stores have some pipe and chimney, most
heating contractors install gas appliances, why Home Fire Stove?
1. Hearth Products Specialists -
Since 1979
we have been almost solely focused on the sale, installation and service
of wood, pellet and gas stoves and fireplaces.
2. Complete Installation and Service -
No
question, we want to install and service what we sell, and we generally
will not install other vendor's products (although we will service them
on a space available basis).
3. Complete Selection with a variety of choices in every category -
We do not
just handle one or two brands and brag that they are the best for
everyone. Specialty stores offer breadth of choice as well as depth of
service.
4. Locally owned and operated -
A dollar
spent with us stays within the Salem Community. Whenever possible we do
business with local vendors.
5. Competitive Pricing -
Add up the
value of the whole package and what it will cost you and compare it with
other bids you should get. We offer superior value.
