PROPER WOOD
CHOPPING TECHNIQUE

FOR HOUSEHOLD LUMBERJACKS

1. STANCE
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and grip the handle of the ax firmly with both hands.

2. BACK AND KNEES
Keep your back straight and bend your knees slightly to lower your body into a comfortable chopping position.

3. MOTION
Raise the ax above your head and bring it down on the wood with a controlled and powerful motion, using your upper body strength to chop through the wood.

4. AVOID
Avoid overreaching or leaning too far forward, as this can lead to injury or awkward, inefficient chopping.

5. SHARPEN
Make sure the blade of the ax is sharp and properly maintained to ensure clean, efficient cuts.
