A swim spa is for moving

A powerful counter-current turns a compact swim area into open water you never reach the end of, which means real cardio, resistance training, and aquatic fitness at home. Swim against the current for a workout, or let it push while you hold position and work your stroke.

Water does something a gym floor cannot. It carries your weight, so knees, hips, and shoulders move through their full range without impact. For anyone rebuilding strength, managing arthritis, or planning to stay active in the same house for decades, that changes what daily exercise feels like. Hot water hydrotherapy reduces joint inflammation and gives significant relief from arthritis and muscle pain, and in a swim spa, the working and the recovering happen a few feet apart.

Then there is the part that has nothing to do with training. Warm water at the end of the evening, blue LED light in the shell, the sound of fountain jets, and a conversation that lasts longer than it would indoors. Couples who build a shared wellness ritual report significantly higher relationship satisfaction, and a swim spa is one of the few installations that serves a swimmer, a recovering athlete, a host, and a person who wants fifteen quiet minutes alone.

Usable Through an Oregon Winter

Most Willamette Valley backyards go quiet for six to eight months. Heated water is the exception. Rain on the surface of a 100-degree swim spa is part of the appeal, and the January mornings are when the habit actually earns its keep.

The Elba Deluxe is built for that. ARCTIC MAX gap-free insulation and an included thermo cover hold heat in through cold, wet stretches, and the energy-saving W-EC circulation pump runs quietly on very low power between uses. Water passes through two superfine filter cartridges, and temperature and functions are managed from the Easy7 control panel.

The Wellis Elba Deluxe Swim Spa

The Elba Deluxe pairs a dedicated swim area with four ergonomic massage seats, so training and recovery live in the same shell. Thirty-three hydrotherapy jets work the back, shoulders, and legs after a swim. Central LED lighting glows through the acrylic, corner lighting frames the perimeter, and three illuminated flat fountain jets add moving water you can hear from the patio.

Underneath the finish it is serious equipment: a stainless steel frame, fiberglass reinforcement, three pumps, and a semi-inground WibeSide cabinet that lets the spa sit low and clean against a deck or hardscape rather than looming over it. At roughly 13 feet long, 7 feet 3 inches wide, and 47 inches deep, it holds about 1,560 gallons.

Wellis backs the Elba Deluxe with a 10 year warranty on the shell structure and 3 years on engineering parts, and those are the warranties we carry and support.

Placement, Installation, and the Years After

A filled swim spa is heavy, wired, and permanent in the way a grill never is, which is why the planning matters more than the purchase. We start with the site: where the spa sits in relation to the house and the sun, what the pad or deck framing needs to carry, how the semi-inground cabinet integrates with existing hardscape, and how you get from the back door to the water without crossing the whole yard in a robe.

From there we handle permitting, coordinate the electrical requirements, deliver, place, and start it up, then show you how to run and care for it. Service does not end at handoff. Our service department stays with the installation, and maintenance plans keep water chemistry, filtration, and equipment checks on a schedule instead of a to-do list. Many homeowners plan the swim spa alongside other outdoor experiences, so fire feature, kitchen, sauna, and water all get designed as one space rather than four separate projects.

See It, Then Decide

Swim spa decisions are easier in person, and we schedule swim spa appointments at our Salem showroom at 1695 Market St NE so you have the time and attention the choice deserves. Bring photos of the backyard, measurements if you have them, and an honest description of how you want to use the water. Our team is non-commissioned, so the conversation is about whether a swim spa fits your home and your goals, not about moving a bigger shell.

Since 1979 we have been helping Willamette Valley homeowners build comfort into their homes, and a swim spa Oregon families use year-round is a natural extension of that work.
